ETHOS AND PHILOSOPHY OF FAMILY ACE

At Family ACE there is no one set approach to our provision delivery as we fully understand that individuals and families present with unique characteristics.  For our team to meet the individual needs of our families, we will utilise multiple assessment methods to ensure that we fully understand the bespoke needs of each individual and family.  Our aim is to provide and embrace a holistic approach to supporting and working with families.  To achieve this, we will remain flexible in our approach to identify and attain the identified needs of our residents, whilst developing a tailored provision that fulfils the placement objectives.  We understand the importance of working collaboratively with local authorities to outline the position of Children’s Services and Family Court Advocates.  We will ensure that our proposed placement plans are effective and efficient and meet the objectives of all.

Fundamentally, our provision is based on a Person/Family Centred approach, which underpins our ethical principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.  As a provision we recognise being person-centred concerns focusing our efforts on the needs of the person and the family rather than imposing a rigid prescribed service.  Put simply, at Family ACE our ethos is to constantly operate within a bespoke person/family-centred approach which focuses on the identified specific requirements of each individual and family, rather than the needs of our organisation.

As we are working with parents, children and families we will have total regard for their views, opinions and wishes, allowing them to participate fully in the planning, review and evaluation of any tailored assessment/plans.  Parents at Family ACE will be partners in the decision process. Consultation and clarity regarding set objectives will be prioritised, ensuring that any resident within the centre has not only fully participated in the development of their plan, but also understands set tasks and expectations.  Family ACE will ensure that all objectives are realistic and achievable.  Parents and families need to fully understand the reasons why they find themselves within a Residential Family Centre and be aware of possible consequences should the planned outcomes not be attained.

We believe our approach will enable parents to feel included and empowered, both of which contribute to improved and sustainable outcomes.
